This project included working with government agencies, conducting the community outreach program, obtaining regulatory permits, and designing Ala Wai Canal improvements, repairs, and dredging. The State DLNR contracted RMTC to prepare a bathymetric survey of the Ala Wai Canal and the Manoa-Palolo Drainage Canal; complete a topographic survey of eroded/damaged canal walls, walkways, stairs, retaining walls, and vegetation; provide environmental, geotechnical, structural, civil design recommendations; complete civil dredging, walkway, and stair improvement design recommendations; obtain permits; and complete project schedule, cost estimates, and design.
