RMTC was retained by the State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) to execute the planning, permitting, and engineering for this highly needed sports complex. This short-scheduled project was meticulously planned and completed to meet the requirements of the DLNR and the Lieutenant Governor’s office. RMTC provided the knowledge and experience to execute the permitting and design of the beautiful park and sports complex. This unique venture is the first active sports park constructed by the DLNR and was turned over to the County of Maui. RMTC performed aerial and ground topographic surveying, prepared an environmental assessment, County of Maui Special Use Permit (to allow for the use of ball fields in an area zoned as agriculture), environmental permits which built the path for master planning 65 acres of the Central Maui Regional Sports Complex and 38 acres of park improvements.
